Default A Dyno!!

I haven't seen an actual Dyno of our bike that I can recall. Just noticed this on the TBR website;

http://www.twobros.com/Cust_Service/...wa_klx250s.pdf

Not trying to stir things up with the whole "which pipe kicks which pipes butt", just found it helpful info to know what the bike actually started at. Also, TBR says you don't need to re-jet the bike with their slip-on, so this Dyno of theirs should be stock jetting. So all you guys with full systems, A/M filter, re-jetted, ect. should be well above this!

Dyno'a are cool, but can be decieving if presented to do so. No two bikes are created equal, and It would be more helpful if 2 bro's showed a before and after likeHMF...

BLUE = HMF slip on Horsepower. 20.8.
GREEN = HMF slip on Torque. 14.7.

RED = all stock Horsepower. 18.3.
RUST = all stock Torque 13.0

Jetting:
Stock
118 main jet.
35 pilot.
1.0 fuel screw.

HMF suggested baseline:
125 main jet.
40 pilot.
Shim needle .032
2.0 fuel screw.
Remove the snorkel from the airbox lid.
I have seen reports on Japanese websites where changing the ignitor can also garn more ponies. Also the air circulation kit could be removed, not much if any power gains there.

Stock muffler weighs 8.20
HMF muffler weighs 5.15

Stock muffler 80db @ idle.
Stock muffler 88db @ 5,250 rpm.

HMF Slip on open 87db@ idle.
HMF slip on open 95db @5,250 rpm.

HMF slip on w/quiet core insert 80db@ idle.
HMF slip on w/ quiet core insert 89db @ 5,250 rpm.[/align]

The Two Brother's graph does have a before run, its the blue line and shows 19HP stock.
The graph they have for the Ninja 250 only shows a 1HP max gain for a $400+ system, it does sound good though....

[&:] oops, shows how many dyno charts I've read. The .1 hp difference between the twobros and the HMF illustrates a good point though...all the exhausts do very similiar so pick the one you like not based on the hype, but what suits your style and price range.

2.4hp gain peak and a noticable power increase across the RPM range with just a slip-on shows you how corked up the stock silencer is on these little do-dads.

It would be interesting to see what a decent head-pipe (like the FMF) would gain you.

Wow, thats a good dyno graph. So if a slip-on was able to provide gains across the whole RPM range and dramiticly increased gains past 8k. I would wonder what a full system would do.

Around 25 hp or so. I've seen it dynoed before, but I don't recall where.

Highest horsie output i've seen on a KLX was Nobreak's one. Got it up to around 28-29 I believe with a muzzy system, an FCR, freemods, and street tires (they'll SIGNIFICANTLY influence the dyno readings).

Don't forget that Nobrakes' bike was sportinga 331cc large bore kit.

Actually mine was only just a hair under 27. I think it is tremor38 who has the highest dyno reading, though.
