As a follow up, the dye does not work on our plastics. After replacing my broken headlight with a trailtech x2 light, I tried dying the broken stock shroud . It didn't take the dye very well at all. The info I posted above is working for the bmx guys on wheels and seats made of nylon. Our plastics are polypropylene.

I had a Redline BMX bike with z-rims. The frame was black with the "Redline" logo in red. The Z-rims were red. Red grips and a carbon fiber seat with a red seat post. It was all show and no go, I could not ride very well. This was about 1985

Too funny, for fun just did a search on the old PK Ripper to see.....you can still buy them and they are almost identical from when I was a kid! Even the Quadangle has not changed! The only thing I did not see on the SE site were the standing gear forks....if my parents wouldn't have given this stuff away while I was in college!

Should have done a google search last year when I bought my son his first BMX bike!

These are pictures I took, here in Rockford, at one of the annual vintage gatherings. Many of the guys on that forum meet here during the ABA nationals every spring. These guys sink some money into these bikes. They have had a few members show up from overseas and all over the country.
These guys live to find those old PK's hanging in garages at garage sales.

Deej, it looks like your cleanliness paranoia was already started at 12 yo

Please forgive me for entering that game, it's the first time and will try it to be the last one.

C'mon guys...those are sissy bikes. Those bikes wouldn't last 5 minutes out here where these bikes go...LOL!

You know...in retrospect I'm not sure I'd want to ride my KLX where I'm riding my bicycle here on Amasa Back at Moab...LOL!
