Durielk & TNC in Colorado

Darren moved back up to the north at this point, as he was going to meet up with a big bicycle race that was taking place. I moved south toward Pagosa for one day and then spent 2 days in the Conejos River area off of CO hwy 17 near Cumbres and La Manga passes. I camped right near La Manga pass at 10,000'. It was a beautiful camp spot and was free of course.
There is some awesome riding in this area, and it's one I'm going back to get more riding. I took some rough 2-tracks up and down to a couple of places where the Toltec/Cumbres narrow gauge railroad operates in the mountains. These were rough but fun trails that kept your attention and went in out of great scenery. I also rode some really rough trails over near the Platoro, CO area. This area is full of trails that I'm going back to for more riding.

Great stuff there TNC Sounds like you guys had a great time. Always nice to have a buddy (or two) to ride with. Places with great trails/roads, like these in Co., are priceless. I need to post up a few pics from the day of Colorado riding I got in a few weeks ago .

TNC, I am still on the road in Buena Vista. I am doing a MBike ride in the morning east of here.
I am headed down through Pagosa & I think I'll spend some time in the area's you mentioned before returning to AZ via Albuqurque.
I can walk! and ride! oh, and I was usually eating soup, yum. and drinking tea or warm beer, just like a good german!
Anyway, I have pic's & video that I will be posting as soon as it is all edited. I am mostly out in the wilderness and my battery on the lap only lasts 1.5 hours. So only about 1/2 of it is done.
I had a good time following the ProChallenge Bike Race. Durango was rained out for me, but we got in the hang of it with a pedal bike up Independance pass for the race, pedal biked from Vail Summit to Beavercreek for that finish, pedaled to the start @ Breckenridge, pedaled up flagstaff road (mt) at Boulder (twice) and was at the final in Denver for Vande Velde to win.

Darren, if I'd known you wanted that kind of abuse like riding up the big mountains on a bicycle, I could have just beaten you in camp with an old motorcycle chain, and you would have been done sooner...LOL!
Good to hear you're still out and about and OK. Looking forward to your pics and vids. I gave 'em all I had which wasn't much.
