Dump the Bike, Flood the Carb

Dump the Bike, Flood the Carb
Does anyone have any tricks to getting your KLX to fire (easily, quickly) after dumping it? I can always get it to finally fire, but only after turning off the gas, throttle WFO, and lots of cranking with the starter. I hate to run the starter that much and I'm afraid at some point of running down the battery. Draining the carb bowl to get rid of the extra gas is out of the question because of the hassle getting to the drain screw. It would be a nightmare if I had to use a kick starter as much as it takes the electric starter to fire it up.
Mods: KDX snorkel, TwinAir filter, Kaw 125 main jet, N1TC needle w/clip in middle slot, slide drilled out with 7/64" drill bit, stock pilot jet w/screw out 2 1/2 turns, rear baffle in exhaust drilled out with 1/2" drill bit.

RE: Dump the Bike, Flood the Carb
I don't have an answer -actually a question. My bike is like yours, with the KDX snorkel and drilled exhaust. The only thing else that I've done is installed the a 13T front sproket for a little more low end.
And right now, that is all that I have done and the bike runs great and has more on the low end as I wanted.
My question is; Your bike runs great with the carb set-up you outlined?
I ask this because Ihave not made any changes to my carb yet and as indicated above, it seems to run great, but purchased the KLX 300 dynajet kit and figured I'd install the jets and drill the slideas you indicated and but use their needle.
Thanks, Glen

RE: Dump the Bike, Flood the Carb
I'm not sure if the 250S is the exact same as the 300, but when I was running the CVK carb and flooded it bad to where it was difficult to start, I would turn off the gas and lean the bike over on the left side to drain the fuel out of the bowl. It wouldthen always start right up.

Where would the fuel drain to?
Where would the fuel drain to?
AgoosSS is correct thou, even thou it may not be the most environmentally friendly technique, it works on our klx, just like his 300.

RE: Dump the Bike, Flood the Carb
Weird, I never seem to dump the bike on the left side. Maybe that's my problem. Again, the question is; when you lean the bike over on the left side to empty the carb bowl, which hose does the gas drain out of? It's not the drain hose, cause the drain screw is used for that hose and getting to the drain screw is a big hassle with a hot engine and a tiny torx bit. And yes, I know the gas drains out to the ground DW.
