I've always wondered, why is it that mountainbikes just feel less "safe".

When I ride a bicycle fast, I just don't feel nearly as safe or "in control" as when I do on a dirtbike.

It should actually be the opposite, because the motor is moving you ona motorized bike as compared to as you are the energy supplied to move the bicycle. I feel the same way sometimes, I think it is the fact that a dirtbike weighs more so going over rocks and such is no big deal as compared to hitting a rock on a bicycle with no Suspension. The bicycle will fly out of control because there is no weight holding it down.

I have been on my mountain bike way more time than i have been on motorcycles, to me my mountain bike feels fine, i feel safe and in control more on my mountain bike, it cant get away from you like a motorized bike can, ya have to take the trails into consideration.... you can take a dirt bike anywhere a mountain bike can go but not the other way around, i was thinking about that in wellsville, looking at the trails, its just too aggressive for a mountain bike, MTB trails are "easy" compared to dirtbike trails... so im sure that has some to do with it.... Its just a whole different world.... i have learned more than i can put into words on my mtb, alot of balancing... most dont have good balance and dont know how to work with the bike not try to make it do something.... ok its late and im rambling.... sorry... but when im on 2 wheels me and the bike are one....lol.... ok ill stop....
