ducati handguard alternative
my buddy is the ducati rep. and let me borrow a hypermotard for the weekend. wow - it's the S model with ohlins rear suspension, marzocchi forks, giant double brembo brakes on the front, sexy single sided swingarm, loud termignoni 2 into 1 carbon fiber exhaust, fat marchesini wheels with pirelli tires, and more than anything else one thousand one hundred italian cc's. front wheel dosen't really want to stay down in the first five gears. rode in the wet yesterday and couldn't keep the back from sliding with almost no throttle at all in any gear. i'm almost afraid of using the front brakes for fear of flying over the bars. note to self - wear a street helmet next time. i'm pretty sure the visor is gonna break off my dirt lid, and goggles don't do much at 98 mph. i gotta give this thing back before i lose my license or my life. now about the handguards - they have integrated turn signals AND folding mirrors attached at the ends that actually work. i still don't know how to post pictures no matter how easy you say it is, so check out ducati's website in the hypermotard section and check 'em out. they are a great idea if you street your klx a lot. if i didn't love my cycra's so much i'd pursue them myself.

once you go to ducati.com, you can see the handguards by going to hypermotard, then the 1100S model. on the right side it says hyperstory and starts a video. on the bottom of that video, look at hypermotard features and you can see the mirrors and turn signals "in action". someone more savvy than me, please make it easy and post a link.

that was me fifteen minutes ago. in that photo you can clearly see the turn signals and the mirrors are folded back. i folded mine back too, to keep from dragging them. in my mind at least. p.s. i also think my wheelies are 12 o'clock.
