Default Dual Sport Tires

I have had my 250s several months now. I've got about 1400 miles on it and am starting to think about tires. I have found out that I enjoy riding the street and dirt roads (not trails, I have an XR400 for trails).

I would like to have a good dual sport tire that is more road oriented. I saw a Kenda tire that was about an 80/20 road/trail that I think might work. Any suggestions on what has worked for you or what you are using? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've got Pirelli Scorpion A/T 90's coming. 90% street and 10% off road.

I wanted a more street oriented tire so, went with this option since the stock Dunlop 603's are scary on some streets and a definite disaster waiting to happen in small rocks on a hard surface (or dirt). I've washed out the front and rear at slow speed non-agressive riding with reasonable street air pressures so, those tires are on their way out. I might hang on to them for when I go back to Oklahoma in the summer but, other then that they are worthless to me.

Let me know how you like those? The model I am looking at is a Kenda 761. I searched on Advrider.com and they seem to get pretty good reviews.

the kenda 270 is a good tire... handles alot of pavement pounding, and is decent dirt tire...

I've got a set of Maxxis 6006 tires. I've been impressed. They have a round profile and lean very well. Off road, I've found them to be very predictable and to have good traction. After 700 miles, I have no complaints and plan on replacing them with another set when these wear out.

I've got Kenda 761's on my DR650. I ride it almost exclusively on the street. The761'sride really well, and make no noise at all on the pavement. They also corner very well and handle rain pretty good. I've got 1500 miles on mine and you can't even tell - they wear exceptionally.

For a 90/10 tire, they work very well onpavement, and ok on dirt roads and gravel. On gravel especially, the front tire wants to wash out if you push it too hard (which on my heavy 650 is about35 MPH). It's predictable though, and you can control that with the throttle. I wouldn't even try mud or sand with them - I'd end up on the ground.

I mostly get road miles. Broke my tibia on a ladder and haven't been able to ride till recently. Probably no hard trails for a while. This tire is rated 50/50 road /trail.
