I live in Fayetteville NC and this region is referred to a "The Sandhills"

Most of the trails around here are very sandy. What dual sport tire is recommended for sandy situations?

Any of you guys have experience in this area?

The rear trakmaster did great in sand. 606 was good too. Id get something pretty aggressive for the front so it digs in good.

 

What do you mean by Dual Sport tire? A 50/50 tire?

 

Yeah, could you clarify your definition of "DS" tire? A true 50/50 tire will pretty well suck in sand. Are you referring to DOT knobbies? A knobby tire will be much better in sand, but some are better than others.

 

I ran the 606s and thought that that was some of the terrain they excelled on.

 

Got a set of Trackmasters a couple weeks ago, rear is ok but I'm not happy with the front in the Florida sand.

 

Sorry for the confusion. I meant a DOT tire.

I still want to be legal on the road.

 

I'm running Pirelli MT21's on mine. I'm in California, so lots of sand out here. The MT21's are way better than stock in the sand, but not sure how they compare to the other options mentioned.

 

I have Trackmaster IIs that I run in the NJ sand, rear is good but I am going to try something different in the front next time.
