Mine does this too, usually at the damnedest times... like on a train, in 2nd, and I go to grab 1st because I need to (hill, etc) and it hits neutral. It'll also happen the other direction too... in 1st, go for 2nd, get neutral. Majorly annoying.

dude.... don't downshift to first when you're in 4th. if you slam it that's really bad because your gear is spinning so fast which is why ur shifter pops back when you try to downshift to first going that fast... use Engine Braking... downshift with brakes to slow down not only faster, but save your brakes... i usually downshift twice while im slowing down and slowly let off the clutch to also help slow me down... unless im riding offroad, then i match my throttle with my engine speed so i dont engine brake and slide out.

and if your bike ever gets stuck in neutral when stopped, just roll the bike forward or backwards and then it'll go... every bike does that.

Thanks for all the advice, I have found that the more that I ride the less it happens, I've started to make sure I know exactly how many times I have to click down to get into first, and it's only happened once or twice. I'll just keep on riding and hope I don't end up in front of some guy in a Duramax stuck at a green light
