Down shifting clunckiness

So in general, a clutch is engaged when you have let go of the lever, a clutch is disengaged or released when you have fully compressed the lever.

GaryC described it perfectly. The KLX trans is pretty crappy. Hard to go down to first without engaging the clutch in second gear on the way down.
