Default Don't laugh :-)

Ok, I've been messing around with the idea of buying a quad lately. Today I picked up a used Polaris 450 4x4 and I have to say, it's pretty cool. I bought it to work around the house but I may take it on a trail ride or two this summer. I took it out and the thing goes through/over just about anything. It weighs in at something like 700 lbs with four wheel independent suspension. It's like riding a cadillac through the woods. I did manage to get it stuck in a really really deep mud pit but I just used the winch mounted on the front of it and pulled myself out. Here's a few pix.

And just so I don't go to far off topic from this forum, I also managed to take my KLX351 out today and put some miles on it. It's got so much more power I can't believe it. I also have these new tires on it so it's really hooks up. I do need to change out the slow jet as it really pops on decel. The 38 and 40 just arrived in the mail I just need to install one of them. Not sure which one yet. Overall I'm very pleased with the result. I can't wait for some better weather to really try it out on the trails. I highly recommend this mod. Of all the mods I've done, this one, by far, has shown the most improvement in power.

Nothing wrong with ATV's. They can certainly go through stuff that MC can't. Some day I'll be getting one as well.
Weather here is finally getting warmer. Took the KLX out for a good ride. The 13 tooth front sprocket is great. I hope the warm weather keeps going.
Have fun with the Quad. Anything off road is better than on.

Dude ATVs are pretty sweet if you're careful on them.

I used to own a pair of Suzuki Quadracer 250s when I used to race and they were a blast to ride when it was too cold/rainy/muddy to get the bike out.

Quads in the snow are awesome. Used to spend many hours rippin it up with friends

Just got rid of a Polaris 500 with Tatou track and wheels. Bought it for song used it for trade for my Yamaha VMax rode it maybe a 1/2 an hour. Got it for good deal but made around $2500.00 profit when I traded it. The v-Max will be way more fun. We have many many designated trails in NE Wisconsin but what really sucks no Motor Cycle permitted.

ATVs but no motorcycles... hmmm... I've seen that before too. I would think ATV's would rip up the land a heck of a lot more than MC's. I can't imagine why you have ATV only trails (no MC's).

DNR Weird Dept of Natural Resources Rules. or as we refer to them as The Dept. Do Nothing Right. DNR. But we have many many many miles of rides here in the North Woods of Wisconsin. Plus the ATV trails are loose and very very very dusty.

Army copter, the quad looks like fun and I'm sure it will be handy around the house. Ramjet, double check on the rules for the ATV trails in your area. Some of the ATV trails in WI say no off road motorcycles, but they do allow licensed motorcycles on the trails. It may depend on what county your in. I know there are some ATV trails in Clark Co, in central WI, that allow licensed motorcycles. It's worth checking out.

Yep, I found it..LOL
Oh I have to share a few stories to share with you guys, two involving my first wife about 15 years ago, and the third on happened to my Aunt.

Story 1: In 1988 I bought a 1985 Suzuki LT 250R Quad racer. I think it was the first water cooled ATV, anyway I really liked it even though it was a two stroke. This thing was really fast, in fact so fast I decided that I was not going to let anyone ride it for fear that they would wrap it around a tree. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against two strokers, but for the style of riding I like to do the 4 stroke is the machine for me. Anyway one day after asking me over and over, my wife and my then sister-n-law came up and asked again if they could ride it. I said no it's a two stroke and I don't want you to get hurt. Then one of them said, and I quote: "well can you take off the two stroke part so we can ride it?" LOL I have told that story to people but if you know about bikes it really means a lot more.

Story 2: When my first wife and I got married we lived in Longview Wa. Now first of all let me set this up. We got married when we were too young. She was 16 and I was 19. Yea I know stupid idiots, LOL Anyway one day I came home from work as an apprentice Electrician for Weyerhaeuser and when I came in she was upstairs doing something. And I noticed that all of the phones had plastic bags on them. When she came down I said what's up with the bags on the phones, and she said that there was an announcement on the radio from the phone company that said they were blowing out the telephone lines and to keep dust out of you're house you should put plastic bags on the phones. Well I just stared at her and it was at that moment that I realized that I got married too young. LOL hahaha

Story 3: Some or most of you guys have probably heard the prank where you send someone to a store for blinker fluid or a can of compression. Well in the 70's my Uncle was doing some remodeling in his house and he told my Aunt to go to the lumber yard to get a board stretcher. Yea that's right. So she goes down there and asks the guy at the counter for a board stretcher and he looks at her and says "Oh sorry it already being used by someone else" He totally played it out as if it was something that they really had. I bet that wasn't the first time he had a wife come in to ask for that.

Disclaimer: No wives were hurt in the making of this post.
