Cool Doh!!

First time for me to adjust chain tension/play. Read the manual, etc. I think I've got the "play" good, but would like any tips or techniques you might use to check and verify alignment. The manual say's something about using a string or straight edge? Doh!
Thanks

I put a ruler and measure the distance on both sides to make sure my tire is pointing straight and true. Do this at several point and measure. Then measure the actual adjusters. I did it once and it worked out fine. don't get paranoid because then you will imagine things :P

I use the straight-edge method...seems more consistent at the points suggested in the manual. Make sure you check several different places in the chain by rotating the tire a little at a time. Chain slack is seldom perfect throughout the length of chain and neither are the sprockets. Adjust at the tightest point.

And run the chain at the loose end of the spec. Chain and sprockets will thank you as will your wallet.
