"Do not install KDX 200 snorkle"

I have run every combination.
Stock snorkel on a modded bike is horrible. Bike lost a considerable amount of power and ran like crap when I put it back in for a day.
KDX200 snorkle is the best combo I have tried.
Noticed no difference without a snorkel.
No lid is extremely loud and unpleasant to ride.

I have the 128 main in right now and I am not impressed with the take off. I want the front wheel to come off the ground a little bit better. The mid and high is where it shines. I want the power to feel like that from low, mid and high speeds. Thinking about dropping down to 124 main as suggested by Mike at Dynojet to see where I am at....
What does the MAIN jet do? (3/4 - WOT) You said it is good there...
How about the needle? (1/4-3/4) You said it is good there...
Where are you having issues...??? At "take off" in your words... that would be (0-1/4) throttle. So what's left to tweak in the carb? Yep, pilot jet, or "fuel screw".

Stock snorkel
There was a good discussion over on the ADVRider forum about this a few months ago. Search for the "Long term KLX250S review" thread. There are a few riders, myself included, that feel that correct jetting and the stock snorkel is the way to go. The popular trend is to remove the snorkel and jet the bike really rich. It will run fine this way, probably better than stock, but may not make any more power over good jetting with the stock snorkel.
The theory behind the snorkel is that the airbox is a Helmholtz resonator. It will flow more air at a certain RPM range than no airbox at all. This is to give the motor a boost at mid-rpm where 4 strokes tend to have a flat spot. Messing with the snorkel messes up the resonator.
I'd love to do some dyno runs with all the combinations of snorkels and airbox modifications, with the jetting set correctly for each setup, but I don't have the time or money to try that experiment.

I tried running my bike with Dynojets instructions. They suggested that I use a 124 main jet. The bike was more responsive, started easier and ran good. However, I decided to go with the 128 main jet because it pulls a lot hard and faster than what was suggested by DJ. It starts perfect and is a whole lot more fun to ride. Everyone has their own tastes on how they want their bikes to perform.

Callin BS on this. more air, less restricted air going in and going out will free up more HP.
