Default DJ 2206 Stage 1 or 2 for 2006?

Question on the DynoJet Kit for an '06 KLX. The instructions in the kit say it's a 2206.002 Stage two kit for a '97-'07 KLX300 mildly tuned using stock airbox with lid removed and stock or K&N filter & may also be used with a good aftermarket exhaust. BUT THE price sticker on the box says "STG-1 JET KIT W/O FLTER KLX". I'm assuming the price sticker is wrong on the stage number, but what I'm really checking is the needle. Will be pulling airbox lid and installing slipon HMF.

SO...several threads show that the needle is the key component here, so I want to make sure its the right one before installing. Needle is bagged, and on the bag is "DNO 352". Is this the right one that ya'll are happy with?

Also, the kit didn't come with any pilot jets. I assume this is normal for the kit. I see others on here mention pilots of 38 and 40. Are these DJ pilots, or Kawa pilots or other? Will also install Kouba screw. Riding in Idaho at 3,000 feet up and low humidity with stock carb and no big bore...yet.

Thanks in advance! Cheers

The DJ website lists what is in each kit. You can compare them that way.

I think I used 2052 in my 09. It came with a slide spring. I used it, but throttle seemed to have turbo lag, so I drilled the slide hole and put the stock spring in.

Should be the right needle. I got the 2206 kit as well. Basically there are only two kits that work, a 2152 and a 2206. I think there is just a slight power advantage with the 2206 over the 2152. The box my 2206 came in also had instructions for doing what they call "stage 1" which was just installing a smaller main jet.

I left my pilot jet alone for now, bike runs just fine. When I go big bore, I will change out the pilot to a 40. I will help you out on your jetting, I am at 3000' elevation in Montana and I went with a 124 main. I think it is just a hair undersized so I am going to change to a 128 this winter. So, if I were you, definitely go with a 128 main.
