Jerry at FSW. From what I have read his seems to be very similar if not identical to the Kustom Kraft kit. The biggest bang for the dollar seems to be the BILL Blue sleeved kit. I think any of them are going to perform very well.

Great Discussion! Thanks for all the info. I will tell you I have financially looked at all these kits and Bill Blue's kit is defintely the most affordable at 479.00 shipped to my door(I supply my jug to him, I live outside of Buffalo NY. Your cost may vary depending on shipping costs).

The one question I have not completely figured out is the reliability question.

In the Auto world boring out a block so far that it has to be sleeved has a significant impact on how long you can beat the crap out of the engine before it self destructs due to how heat is dissapated. It should be safe to assume the same is true for motorcycle engines. After all a 4stroke is a 4stroke. The only difference is size, whether it is 250cc or 383ci, it all works the same.

With that in mind, it would seem like boring out the 300cc jug would be better for durability than boring and sleeving a 250cc jug. This also assumes the amount of material in both jugs that can be bored is equal. That is something I do not know for sure, maybe I should email Bill Blue and see if he knows the answer. Anyone know how much material can be removed from the 250cc jug and 300cc jug before you get to close to the water jackets?

This might be the piece that ends up making up my mind. My bike unlike some folks I have heard from on here is used more so as reliable transportation and less so as a weekend toy. It has to run everyday and it has to be reliable.

I have alot to learn about motorcycles, Thanks for taking the time to fill my head.

I don't know about the 300cc jug, but on my BB331, the sleeve is already IN the water jackets, but he said that is not a problem, and they seem to have a pretty good track record so far. I am thinking of getting a used 300cc jug to compare with the stock and 331 visually, and then maybe send to Bill for the 350 project he is working on.

Guys your worrying about reliability,$ 479.00 so if you have to replace this in 8-10000 miles thats alot of riding and it may even go further so you can start over or overbore the sleeve. I have torn into this engine more then most and my compression is the same as when i installed it. I also run more compression then most so I think I'm on the extreme of the durability scale. Both sleeved or not is fine this isn't a car. If any of you ride this 150,000 miles hell I'll buy you a new sleeve.

Yeah, that makes good sense. I alway's crow about the benefits of the nikasil coathing, but for $479.00 it's hard to beat what Bill offers from a 'bang for the buck standpoint.' Might as well use the stock jug for something once you're done with 250cc. Once that is worn out, then get a 300 jug and overbore/nikasil. If you keep the bike that long, might as well have a set-up that only reguires ring changes, rather than incremental overbores.

+1. My bike got scary fast once I installed the aftermarket fender. None of my other mods compare.

If anyone has a 300cc jug for an 07 let me know. For that matter I might be interested in a 250cc jug as well. My bike only has 1800 miles on it. I do alot of riding. I have put over a 1000mi on it since I got it, which was either may or june this year.
