Option 1 does work. My friend has a 2007 and he fit the dg slip on that bike. The foot peg is tight and the mounting was a little tight but it works fine.

Hi guys. I'm new to the klx250s and new to the forum too. Does anyone know
how this can... FMF Powercore 4 Slip-On Exhaust Anodized Fits Kawasaki KLX250S 2009-2010, 2012,.. compares to the DG as far as loudness,ie, decibels goes. I ride on the streets in town some, and don't need the cops on my butt.
Looking for something of a more mellow sound than the DG.

I have the powercore 4 installed on my bike, I'm not sure how it compares against the dg exhaust In terms of loudness but the pc4 I thought was incredibly loud personally... as I do mostly commuting to work in built up areas I too thought this would attract the attention of the cops so I installed the quiet insert.

This made all the difference and a lot less worried about running into the cops

Ok, thanks for the replys fellows. I think I'm goint to pull it apart and install a baffle like I read one other member did and see how that sounds. maybe even wrap said baffle with packing. Should do as much as the more expensive quite insert I would think.

Here is my 2 cents. I have the DG R slip-on on a 2010 250s. It seems built well. I have paid high dollar for other pipes , like $350 plus. It seems just as good. I agree with mmmbeefy that it rattles cause of the quiet core. But soon as mine warms up it stops....takes 30 sec. I tried it w/o quiet core and holy bat crap batman that's loud. Loud like a racing motor cross bike. I used the 1" quiet core in mine and it pretty quiet for a aftermarket pipe. Sounds even better with the 330 big bore. Now it does seem loud while riding it but it's not. Had my cousin ride it up and down the road so I could hear it. Not loud at all just seems that way. So drawing to a close. For a $148 shipped to my door plus $26 for quiet core. That's hard to beat. If I could start over again , I would buy the same pipe. Feel free ask about my setup.

I ended up buying a two brothers in the used section. Not sure how it compares to the dg but it seems loud with the airbox lid off. But, I am coming from a stocker with the lid on so I will give it a go and see how I like it.
