Default Devol 1" Lowering Link

Hi all, got my Devol Racing Lowering Links. I got the 1" dog bones but they offer a 1 3/4" kit too.

Loosening the bolts was a bear, got one loose with my 'lil 3/8s drive breaker bar and hammer. My wife suggested I use my new torque wrench to loosen the other, it is my longest wrench. Thanks Sticky for posting the shop manual. Bolts should be tightened to 61 ft/lbs. Set to 65 to break loose and it just clicked. Cranked all the way down to 100 lbs and was able to loosen. Put some grease in there and tightened to 61 ft/lbs.

Lest we not forget, to try and keep my rake/trail the same, raised forks in triple clamps. I love how my Kawi handles!

I can now flat foot both feet with a slight bend in my knee's, SWEET!
The Devol links seem really nice and a quality item. Appears to be machined from billet aluminum. If you look close you can see some machining marks.

I did the same thing plus shaved my seat foam down 1 1/2" on top of that. Very comfy solid footing which wasn't my issue. It's getting my right leg over the bike with my 29" inseam, bad back and right leg. Anyway, I bought an adjustable +1" to -4" inches lower. The +1" means raise 1" inch. It's a turnbuckle style link. I ended up only going down 3/4" on rear, cuz that's the max I could lower front by sliding tubes up at triple trees due to the down taper on fork tubes.

Thanks for the reply Werloc! I did read your excellent detailed article on shaving down the seat.

Next up is installing my new IMS Pro Series foot pegs. I love the quality of them and plenty of room for mud to escape.
