No box available YET, but it is in the works. When they get it out, I will be going to a new 09 FI D-Tracker, and fitting a 351 kit on there.......woohoo......

'When' they get it out and what it will be capable of is the big question.

The only people I know of who are currently developing a controller (BLR here in Japan) finally got it to work on the D-tracker after developing an additional circuit. HOWEVER, they couldn't get it to properly work with a 300cc kit installed..kept getting an 'FI' warning light.

A couple of possibilies would be adding something to simulate a suitable lamda sensor signal the fool the ECU...or maybe the stock injector doesn't have enough flow for the larger displacement, which would require an aftermarket replacement or retrofit something with more flow.

If I were to go to an EFI bike today, that bike would regrettably be the new WR. It's really mind boggling why Kawi would stay with such an old and underpowered design while making it super difficult to do engine power improvements on their closed loop EFI.

My thought too. Alloy frame, 30Hp stock and plenty of hop ups available already.
FI could be the kiss of death for the KLX.

Well guys I did not quite say that the FI was bad, it actually worked well with throttle response and starting. It was only the constant cycling of the ignitiopn key that got to be a pain.

FI should not in itself offer more peak HP, its benefits are in start up, crispness and ability to adapt itself to changing weather and elevation conditions better than a carb.

I was just sad to see FI be the only change to the KLX in ten years and when they did that it was a bodged up closed loop system.

Tremor - great info on the controller, thank you and sorry to see it not work for larger bores. I'll be back in the states in April so the offer is still open, if you need anything from the states just let me know.

There goes my massive powered motard idea.......darn. Guess the pumper and 351 motard will have to suffice...
