POSTCARDS FROM THE LEDGE

Went for a short 30-mile ride today out in the Sonoran desert. We had over 3.8 inches of rain Saturday (half of our yearly total) so it only got up to 75º - brrrrrr! Anyhow, it should be close to 80º manana! Stay frosty out there guys and gals!

 

Riding today?! Mark, some of us have to work for a living you bum! I was going to ride on Sunday but it only reached 65 degrees-no way baby, if it gets below 90 I get cold!!!

 

Yep, today when I was riding in this arroyo that got pretty washed out over the weekends storm I spotted some dull, gold colored flakes - I'm going back there tomorrow with a small shovel [sm=shades.gif]

 

Ohhhhhhthat looks like some fun riding...... I gotta get out to the desert, lil chillie now huh....we're supposed to see 60 tonight....brrrrr.

 

Forget the shovel dude I would be heading back there with a Minelab gold detector (GPX 4000)and a mining pick!!! Eureeeeeeka! Theres still gold in them there hills boyz!!!!

Hey you never know. They say the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine is really north of the Superstitions close to where you ride. I'll make up my Christmas list now in case you get lucky finding the mother lode And quit riding out there alone you crazy bastard!

Looks like a fun place to ride. I tend to ping pong off a few trees in the tight woods, but it looks like there might be more motivation to keep it on-track with all those cacti around.

 

Yah, that's what I need a metal detector!

The sky last night and tonight - just filled with stars, broke out the telescope (actually it was already out from spying on the hot ****y number that lives behind me) anyhow I could still see Comet Holmes and Pleiades is spectacular looking! Now, if the neighbor lady would just turn on her bathroom lights...
