Hey Deej. Just thought I would try a 'Deej' thread.

So have you picked out a KLR650 to do some cruising with the bigger boys. I plan to do at least one 'coast' trip this year and spend the night in your neighborhood for a Deej hosted FS road tour.
I am up for that, Lets get the ball rolling on that one.
There is a 01 KLR 650 on craigs list for 2100.00 That will at least get you stated Deej.
Although truth be told, I prefer the Honda 650 over the KLR. I mean its just......I can't describe it poetry in motion.
Deej, you have great taste!!

I'm also a fan of the Honda 650 - great bike.

Something about the KLR650 just doesn't light a fire for me. Wait, let me look at one again ... . Nope, I feel nothin.

I sat on the Honda 650 before I bought ordered the KLX. Funny I just realized I ordered a bike (the KLX) without sitting on one or ever seeing one in person. Just imagine what would have happened if I would have bought the 650. I wouldn't have met all of you great riders from all over the world. I wonder if the 250 section would have been added? Well I guess someone would have requested it eventually......oh crap there I go again reminiscing again.....I gotta go.

It was always a toss up for me when it came to my XR650L over my KLR650. Eight years back I did a trip to Patagonia with a crazy bunch of DS riders with BMW's and KTM's, the KLR never let me down mechanical wise plus all the aftermarket farkles for it is great. It was an adventure of a lifetime! I would recommend it to anyone who still has some "life" left in them and some coin in their pocket. South America is over run with KLR's so they are easy to get repaired there with parts-a-plenty. My Honda on the other hand has more "guts" and is a handful on the trails, doesn't handle as nice on the pavement as the KLR but it is more fun to ride than the KLR - it's more of the "wild" stallion vs. the KLR which is the "tame" mare. But I will say that my KLX250 is more fun to ride than both of the 650's together!

Mark, your Xr650l was a little too much machine for me when you let me ride it. Too heavy for my frail little girlie body!

You are so full of it girl - is that why you where doing circles around me and popped a couple of wheelies on that "too-much-machine"! I always feel 20 years older than I am when I ride with you KC - Now cut the BS out already!!
