Very cool! I had a 'Cuda that used to fly in damp weather. I mean it was fast all the time for a car(340 w/six pack carbs) but the weather did affect it. So....I guess I can believe the Salt Air theory. I couldn't find any supporting evidence on the net though.

I will say this, I did not let it completely wind all the way out in 6th and I was right on 90, I really think it had more to go but am not that familiar with this area and the Police tend to hide in places and give more tickes for speeding than I have ever seen, mostly on the main highways. I was behing the Port and it was a long stretch but I did not let it go it had more in it was very stable since there was little wind. I do believe Finger Mullet, something is making this baby want to fly in Florida. I know if I had the stock rear sprocket on it and do not remember what size that was it would surely push 100? I said I was running a 47 rear but it may be a 48. I did notice when I removed the rear tire that nothing larger would fit because of the chain guide.

You are right finger, I was pulled over in KY after tricking mine out and the Police were just scratching their heads. Asked me if I had gotten it licensed there and I told them that sure I did and it was a street legal bike and if they did not mind the next time they see me, please just leave me alone and not a one ever bothered me again. Once tricked they are not truely street legal but as long as you have a tag on it and the papers, unless they know the law to a T, you can get by with just about anything.

Nah, not stock. When I bought her new she was a standard green 06 klx with the big dorky blinkers, tail light and 10lb headlight/instrument setup. After two years of flogging by me and a beating by the florida sun.....the plastics were shot. Replacement stock kawi plastic is big $$$ so I searched for alternatives.....because I will have to replace the plastic again.
Here's what I decided upon.
klx300 black plastic tank (3/4 gal bigger than stock and much lighter)
Maier klx300 rad shrouds
Maier klx300 side panels & rear fender (left side panel needed a little heat gun action, no biggie)
Baja Designs Hid ready headlight and led tail light
Guts racing high seat with black cover (best mod)
Vapor instrument thing (way lighter)
Now I got cheap plastic to replace when I need to.
Edit Opps I forgot....Arcebis kx250 front fender.
