Default Deceleration popping.

Heya's Just took the bike out for a bit of a ride thru the city.

I am noticing more popping on deceleration than before I rejetted. Isit a cause for concern at all? Bike pulls a lot harder than it did before.

I am running a DJ132 main with no air box lid.

Thank you muchly.

Glen

Back your mixture screw out a half turn and see what it does.If you go out to 3 1/2 turns then you need a larger pilot jet.

I'm confused, I always heard that popping on decel meant lean, but I'm beginning to think it doesn't mean anything...
Cause my bike has always popped on decel, and I was surely too rich with my old jetting setup. [&:]

This procedure isa sticky from Eddie, the jetting expert on Thumper Talk. It has always got me very close. Popping on decel usually is a lean condition. A little popping is OK. You need to adjust your fuel screw and determine if your pilot jet is correct.

seems like the most common jetting issue that comes up are pilot circuit related.the following is a sure method to choose the needed changes.

with the bike warm and idling turn the fuel screw in till the idle drops/misses.then go back out till the idle peaks/smooths.

this should happen between 1 and 2.5 turns on a fcr carb and 1 and 3 turns on a cv.

if you end up at less than 1 turn you need a smaller pilot jet.more than 2.5 (or 3 turns on a cv) you need a bigger pilot jet.

choose the appropriate size and retest

If you left the smog equipment on it will pop regardless of being too lean too rich or just right, it makes the exhaust temperature too high. After removing mine it will only let out a loud pop if I'm up near redline and have to get out of the throttle quickly.

I haven't removed any smog equipment fromthe bike.

Thats interesting I might see if I can find a link on what to remove.

I'll let you all know the outcome.
