come on, let's not classify Harley riders like you're doing, it's pretty immature. to be honest, it's downright idiotic. Harley is not the only brand that makes cruisers or who has riders that don't wear helmets or that just wear the half helmets.

So your source is a cop in detroit who barely has any real riding experience under his belt and is basically just a spectator when it comes to any type of motorcyle accident. to top it off, he says that HE thinks helmets are basically worthless over 35mph. well son, i hate to tell you, but i once paid $600 for a helmet. 2 months later, that same helmet saved my head and my life when a car turned into me at 60 mph and i ended up kissing a fencepost with my head followed by a nice 'copter ride to iowa city. i think the cop you so conveniently found in your google search needs to ride a motorcycle before he makes generalizations like that.

and then, you look up hd accessories and look at helmets. sure, a lot of riders of hd's wear half helmets. but just because hd's catalog lists more of them than any other doesn't mean all or even the majority of hd riders wear that type. come on, you're not that shallow are you? plus, after owning a hd everyone knows NOT to buy anything from the hd accessory catalog because everything is so overpriced. do you know that japan sells more cruisers than hd? are you saying that the majority of those riders wear full-faced helmets? if you go with your attempt in logic, that's the conclusion one could make. i'm not gonna get all into this hd issue again. evidently those of you that harbor negativity or stereotypical attitudes in hd riders were, at a young age, introduced to that type of thinking from someone of great significance in your life. hd riders aren't rebels riding around in half helmets as some of you may think. they're regular guys who do care about their heads just as much as other riders. sure, some are ********, but as i can attest, some sportbike junkies are jerks as well as i use to worship the five letters that spell ninja.

let's get back to the original topic- David Bailey and his attempts in helping other riders not ending up like he did. It's hard for him to talk about this and hats off to him for pushing the "kings" of supercross like he is. unless you are near death from a motorcycle or had a bad crash, you really cannot relate to what he's saying.
