I am currently looking at a few sets of black rims. Check back tomorrow to see if I have them listed on here.

I got them from Yahoo auctions here in Japan. The side plate on the right side is painted black. I am looking for some black fork guards and plates now, to sell as a complete kit. The only piece that most people with US models can't use is the headlight. I have a black headlight too.

Pretty fun with the 42 on isn't it? I ended up putting the 39 sprocket on though for the highway.

Yes it is. But I may try the 39 tooth to. dt1972 had one on the wheel set when he sent them to me. Here is the bike as it sits now. Just need some black sidepanels and fork guards.

I also went with a shorter chain. If you want you could shorten the stock chain too.

Is there any way to recalibrate the speedometer? I would think to just have an easily swappable unit, but I'm not sure how to develop an "EZ connector" up the fork for the new unit. What kind of electrical wire is used? How much is a new OEM unit from the SF or D-tracker?

Currently to use an S model speedometer on a D-tracker type hub, you need to remove a grease ring. It's not ideal, but it works just fine.

Not trying to screw anyone down the road, but anyone who runs their S model with small front tires will be putting false miles on their bike, like me. I don't really care as I am liking the bike more and more, especially since I replaced the fork springs and had a chance to try them out.

Hmmm.......
