Default Cutting out in 1st & 2nd

Hey All,

I have a 2009 KLX 250s bone stock. It has been flawless and has 15000 miles on it. Recently it has begun to run erratically in 1st and 2nd gear. It feels like it is cutting out, losing power, and jerking from power loss, not surging. It only does this in the first two gears, but I think I feel it starting to creep into the higher gears as well.

Has anyone else experienced this, or have any idea what could be causing it?

Thanks for any help.

Craig

My money would be your carb. Needs to be cleaned. One of the jets or needle has partial obstruction.

DINGDINGDING! Clean them good while you are in there, you don't want to have to do it twice.

Looks like I will have to do process of elimination. Start with carb cleaning, if that doesn't fix the problem move to the clutch plates. If the problem was one of the safety switches I would think it would manifest itself throughout the gears.

Thanks for the feedback.
