Curbs, stairs, and other obstacles...
How well does our stock suspension absorb stuff like curbs? I don't plan on being too much of a hooligan but, the occasion has arisen several times in the Jeep so, I expect it to on the bike as well. I'm about 200lbs sans gear and I know the stock suspension is set up for someone much lighter. Do I run the risk of serious damage to any components if I take a medium height curb at a slow to moderate speed? How do you guys take on stuff like this?

The suspension will be OK.
Just watch the rims and tyre tubes.
Keep the tyre pressure up and curbs are a doddle.

Depends on the angle of the curb. If its the nearly straight up curb, take them slow or near stop speed. The very angled curbs you can take on at higher speeds.
I sometimes park in odd position. So rather than backing out of the parking space, I just run over the curb and cross the grass or whatever may lie ahead.

also depends on your riding. load the front springs prior to the obstacle, and "unweight"the bike with power and body position at the start of the obstacle. when you are in the midst of the obstacle, reduce the power and shift forward. that unweights the back. you can do lots with technique.
