cruising speeds with 351 and pumper carb, speedometer off, and gas mileage?

No it's not real jolty and most probably not even notice it. I have no experience with the other carbs only the Bill Blue modified Mikuni TM33. IMO if you do the 351 and carb, have it tuned right and raise the gearing, you will have no trouble getting the front wheel up and cruise all day at 65
