Hmmmm.....then why are you wanting to go to a big bore? Have you considered doing at least the front suspension first?

Not.. exactly. Try riding at 70 - 80 MPH (GPS) sitting straight up with a bit of an incline... not possible with a 250... as you approach the limits of the motor (eg the end of the curve) the 250 starts to fall off..

Well, I guess I should have stated my reason for the 351. It is very hard to maintain speed in 6th gear at 60-65 with just a small amount of wind. I thought by going to the 351 that this would help me maintain speed without having to constantly down shift to 5th gear. I have no interest in going any faster than 65-70 indicated, that's why I said I'm not looking to go fast. Am I looking in the wrong direction in order to maintain speed, or am I on track here.

Yes you are on the right track.. I was having a hard time maintaining 70 indicated unless I crouched down and was completely on a flat surface.. with a 351 you can sit up and go 87 indicated. I put a speedodrd (speedhealer) so my speedo is exactly same as GPS, and last night I passed a car going up hill at 84 MPH (GPS) going slightly up hill (okay I crouched down slightly) Its an incredible upgrade.

Thank you very much!

I'm not up to speed on what a speedhealer is. Can you tell me a little about it please.

AH, yes. In that case, the 331 does the trick, so, I'm positive the 351 should be able to do it even better. I simply didn't want to get into wet sleeves, seeing as how the low temp tomorrow is 91 here, with a high temp of 112 expected. I thought it prudent to go with the largest dry sleeve, which was the 331. You are on the right track!

12oClockLabs speedo-drd its a small chip that you plug in near your instrument cluster.. then you program it to compensate for the 8.6% that the stock speedometer reads.. My speedometer was reading 8.6% faster than GPS speed.. now, the speedometer is dead on accurate.

Ok, thanks. I see in your signature that you have an aux tank. Any chance you can post a picture of that for me with a little info.

After I checked this web site out, I do remember seeing this before. I will have to do some research on this and maybe this will be my first mod.

Thanks!

Holy crap - the speedo is out 8.6%?

I thought it was out but didn't think it could be out that much - no wonder cars are on my butt sometimes.
