Cruising RPM
2009 klx 250. Recently got some carb issues solved. Now enjoying the bike. I know it’s a single cylinder bike, but is 6-6500 rpm at 60 mph what everyone else sees? I think I have original sprocket gearing . Wondering if I need to change the rear sprocket? Thanks....Tonebone

That’s about right.. 6k at 60 in 6
remember it’s a little 250.. and it’s light.. 60 -70
IMO is plenty for this little scooter I’ve been on the slab at that speed and she will move around a bit

I goofed around and had a 15/39 set up for a while on my bike. If I only ran street I'd run it all the time. I wouldn't shift to sixth until over 55 mph. It would cruise 70-75, but pushing a lot of wind. Downshifting was the norm. Hit some grade be ready to drop a gear.
