Just to put in my 2cents worth..... but I have read that almost everone had some kinda trouble getting their NUT off. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones that didn't have any trouble whats so ever. I bent the washer that was holding the nut on back off the metal and placed my socket on and with my neighbor holding the rear brake I twisted it right off with a socket wrench. Now that might not be a good thing now that I think of it. I might have been the only one that was about to reck due to a loose nut but when I put the thing back on I put some tourqe behind it and bent the washer back on the metal. Like I said just my 3cents worth.. take it or leave it.... LOL

Cracked that nut this evening. My wife put all her weight on the back brake. I used a 27MM socket. Don't use a deep socket because there too much distance between the nut and the 1/2" drive (the socket could more easily slip off the nut when using a deep socket). I used a breaker bar...swore and cussed and kicked that breaker bar...heard the victorious crack of the nut breaking loose.
FYI, the thread is not reversed. For all you guys trying to crack that nut, do all your swearing mentally and not out loud. Swearing out loud in front of the wife tends to have the effect of putting a freeze on other nuts.

I finally was able to loosen the nut using a 3/4 inch drive 2 ft long rachet and I inserted a tire iron through the back sprocket slot that held against the swing arm. It was so tight that the tire iron left a dimple in the swing arm. Tried a 1/2 impact wrench rated at 250 ft/lbs and it didn't move at all. Is Kawasaki using some type of industrial strenght lock tight? Can't believe the nut was that tight.
