What are dealers charging for extended warranties?

My dealer said he would check it out and get back to me, but has not yet followed through.

 

Well kawi will send you a paper when your 1 year is about to expire.... but my dealer was about 40-50$ cheaper. I bought two more year for 290$ if that helps any......

Yeah go to the dealer and he should save you some $'s. I'm pretty sure if you buy it from Kawasaki direct, the original dealer does not get the commission. So if you go to the dealer and offer to buy it from him, he should save you some money because he will take a fair profit over his dealer cost rather than not make any money.

 

mine was 4 years extended for 380.00

 

The dealer's business manager offered me the 4 year Kawasaki GTPP plan for $440, when I turned it down he told me that his cost for the warranty was $220 and that he'd sell it to me for $320 if I would reconsider, so I did.

 

Hey welcome Hardrocker, I bought the extended 4 years, making it a total of 5 years. I guess its my security blanket, and besides its only money right? Again welcome tell us where you live and what you do.

 

Welcome Aboard! A little pressure on the dealer for some action should work. Otherwise go some where else.

 

Thanks for the information. Are your extended warranties transferrable to subsequent owners?

I live inMinnesota and am retired, although I do a little consulting. I have ridden for many years, starting out on small bikes in the '50s (125 Czek and Triumph Tiger Cub) and progressing up through the R1150GS. Now I am headed back to the smaller bikes.

 

Welcome aboard. The warranty is transferable 1 time. I also got it for a extra 4 yrs, but they were pretty vague about what preventive maintenance was absolutely required of me to not void the warranty. Basically they said if you change your oil regulary, and it looks like you take care of your bike your safe. Also obviosly no engine mods. They said exhaust mods were okay though. Jeremy
