Coolant reservoir bottle(or lack there of)
My 2009klx250sf doesnt have a coolant reservoir bottle. Did these come on all models? If I am not planning on doing any(very very little) off road riding do I really need it? I have seen a couple posts about ordering replacements and people running without them in cool temps. I live in Charlotte NC and it def gets hot in the summer here.
Thanks!

Yes, your bike had one from the factory.
I put a Baker distance tank on my bike, which mounts where the bottle does, so I removed mine to mount the tank. I spent some time looking to remount the bottle somewhere, then went for a ride. It's never made it back on, never lost any coolant, even on multiple 90º days of off-roading up mountains in 1st and 2nd gear(revving hard and moving slow).
I will replace it over winter with a bottle I can mount up front but don't feel like I need it. I just want it for insurance and for the future 351 kit.
If you sit in traffic a lot, I'd put one on. If you are always moving, I wouldn't worry too much.
Clear as mud?

Cool,
I will MAYBE look into it when summer next year comes around. So far I dont think the cooling fan has come on once.
You say you want it for insurance......what do you mean? Like your insurance company is going to look for this particular part? Or that just as insurance that it doesnt overheat?
I got the bike titled just last week and no inspection of any kind was done. I think I will have at least a year to decide if they do look for it in a state inspection.
Thanks,
