I've often wondered about this, too. In Louisiana you can have a weapon hidden in your car because your car is considered an extention of your home.... but on a bike does that mean I can conceal it? IDK... I'd like to carry a gun with me (when I have the dough for one).

P95 is my primary gun but I can't carry at all in MD (socialist republic)
I really want a P3AT pocket gun for those times nothing else is convenient

Louisianna is supposed to be an open carry state - but a CCW liscense is only 25$ per year if you are under 65yo. then you can hide it on your body and not have to worry about it being stolen from your bike.

I use to carry my AMT Automag II - the 18 inch fireball and big powder report would scare the devil out of nearly anyone or anything, Pretty intimidating for a 22Mag. Forest Service use to get agitated on the public range when I would rapid fire it, they would think someone had a full auto which seemed kind of uneducated to me. When I needed to really hide it my choice was my Browning BDA 380, great balance, safe as all get and and took a beating. Can't do any of that anymore....

Man i love that p85, i have run many of rounds through it not one jam, and i bought it used, and on the net i found there was a safety recall, so i contacted ruger, they sent a prepaid box and stuff to me and i sent them the gun, they fixed it and sent it back plus a 15 rd ruger clip for the gun. No cost to me.... Great company, great gun. It used to be a police issue gun, i think. I havent ridden with a shoulder holster yet, i might try this weekend, to see what its like, but i need something smaller.

yeah rugers are awesome in the reliability department - they are not picky about ammo - they will eat the cheapest of ammo all day long. I put about 300 rounds through mine a month and its never has a single misfire. rented some glocks and had stovepipe jams, FTF's etc with the cheaper ammo.

After my little bear encounter, I've been considering this also. I want a little more knock-down power than a .380 or a 9mm, though. I've been looking around, and I think this might be the one for me:

My dad has an FFL, so I can get whatever I want at cost. I've been thinking about getting one of those holsters that fit in the small of your back. That way, it's out of the way, and even if I unzip my jacket, the gun doesn't show (so I don't scare the convenience store clerks).

My big frame 44 mag is in reality just a little big to carry comfortably in a shoulder holster. The next time I go to The Sportsman's Warehouse, I'm gonna look for some kind of holster for the scoped 44 that will hang low on my leg. with a 7.5 inch barrel its hard to conceal it real well. But if I'm out hunting it would be nice to have one of these bad boys. Who's with me?
