Does anyone remember Ford using the "quiet steel" as a marketing gimmick? Well they did use it, but for only a year and half or so.... You had to get one of the first years of the the new body style... the "Quiet Steel" was too expensive.... so they stopped using it... so if any of you that have a brand new f150 think it has that quiet steel ur mistaken.... Just a little info....

CW,

I'm not familiar with the Odyssey, is that a V6? I'm sure you know front wheel drive cars are a real pain to work on. You'll probably have to remove the front right wheel and wheel well plastics and remove some accessories, alternator, p/s, compressor? It's not a fun job, but I would certailny do it myself rather than pay someone.

Do you have a repair manual for the car? If not I would get one first and read up on it.

Mike

Sweet! Thats a nice looking truck... my truck has a intake noise too because i have an aftermarket air intake on it, most of the stock air intake's on vehicles are also air silencers.... so thats y mine is loud, thats weird that a stock one does it.... i think almost all 2006 and newer cars have an auxillary audio input... the manufactureres are realizing portable mp3 players and such, my wifes HHR has that also.
Yeah, I was really just wanting something simple and didn't want to pay a lot of money for the more luxury type items that I could take or leave but end up adding a lot to the final price, so that's why I was pleasantly surprised that it had some of those little things. My only requirements were that it had to fit my whole family (2 adults, 3 kids) so that meant super cab or crew cab. And it had to have AC, cruise control, and 4WD. Other than that, everything else was a bonus So I narrowed it down to the closest thing on the lot that met that criteria which was an STX model, one up from the base XL model, and then the haggling began and after 4 hours of that [&:], I drove it home.

I've always had the impression that a more modern high tech motor like the Honda 3.5L V6 is best left to the professionsals. Hey doesn't that motor have more power and torque than most of the base 4+ liter American V8's used in some of these amazing pick-ups?
If I ever own a pick-up, it will be a Toyota or Nissan... full size or compact.

This sounds like a question for vfrpilot, where are you man?

Wrong kind of Odyssey. He's talking about the kind that you license.
When I started reading the post, I had this dumb look on my face and was thinking "where in the heck did he find a timeing belt?" Then I realized he was talking about his mini van.

The dumb look is still there ...... I was born with that.[sm=hiya.gif]

Thanks everyone for your input on this. Yes, I was talking about the minivan. I did even know that there was anything else with a similar name.

klxstiffler, I will shoot you a PM after posting this. Thanks for the offer for the hand-holding.

Alright, no more massively off topic posts from me for a little while.

Thanks again everyone.
