What are you guys wearing when the roads are wet? Anyone have any recommendations for an inexpensive pair of rain pants?Good brands, places to look, etc.

I'm moving at the end of the month and will be using the KLX to commute as often as possible (I currently live close enough to walk, after the move it will be about 5 miles each way). Not looking for anything special, just something to wear over my work clothes to keep the spray/road grime off. If it's reallycoming down I'll take the car.

I have a pair of Thor Ride Pants for the wet rides, no complaints.

That's great, but I'll betchathey don'tget anywhere near a hot exhaust header. I'll pass on those. Carharts and Cabella's are good rain gear too, but they suffer from the same problem when you jump on a bike.

Something with a waterproof membrane and heat resistant legs is the ticket. It's well worth it in the long run.

I have the Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket and pants with zip in rain liners. Worked fine on my 15 mile commute last year. Its a little warm with the rain liners in but if its coming down you will stay cooled off, its when you get back out in the sun that you get toasty.

 

Thanks everyone. I just ordered a pair of Shift Ranger Waterproof Rain Pants from motorcyclecloseouts.com. I'm not expecting much, but I think they will meet my needs:

1) Cheap ($37 shipped, I opted for the 2007 closeouts to save $20, yeah, I'm a cheap bast**d like that)
2) Simple (I don't need to look likeJames Stewart riding into the garageat work)
3) Lightweight, waterproof, taped seams, and heat resistant panels below the knee

I'll post my impressions once I get them if anyone is interested.
