Default CO2 inflator

OK, thanks. I got a Spin Doctor Quick Shot. It states that it works for schrader's but I couldn't get it to work & I was 30 miles from nowheresville. It doesn’t have a little needle or something in the middle of the housing to push the schrader valve down? I looked at some more of these at the store, they don't have anything to depress the little needle either. Mine doesn't and I am wondering if I lost a part or if their marketing the dual use is just BS.

Later, I looked at some more of these at the store, they don't have anything to depress the little needle either. I'm at a loss on this, how does the little needle get released. Maybe the one I have is ok, but I couldn't get it to work!

Stupid question: did you lift the locking lever up so it is inline with the valve stem? That's how most bike pumps work, at least the ones I have used.
You may need to switch around some small parts in the pump head depending on valve stem type. A guy at the trailhead where I ride couldn't use his brand new pump until I suggested he switch parts' order in the head.

1. I don't remember about the lever, but all that does is close the rubber around the stem, it doesn't make any thing move to release the needle.
2. There are no parts to move around on this unit which is advertized as dual use. I previously had some pumps like that and they had a part that did hit the needle for schader type.

I guess I'll need to try it with the lever for sure and see next time I need air.

Here's a far flung guess: If the pressure on the outer end of the Schrader valve is higher than the tube side, could the pressure push the valve open?

Ride on

No, you need to push the 'thing' down.

Call or email the company and ask them. I would. Sounds like your not using it correctly. Try a YouTube search on it, I bet there’s a video on how to use it or a review on it showing how it works. I would also test it before relying on it out in the middle of nowhere as they can be tricky at times. Sometimes you only have one chance, so it’s good to know how to use it and how well it works. I had a very simple basic version of this for my mountain bike back in the day. All it was, was about a 5/8” long valve that connected the CO2 canister to the valve stem. Then all you did was quickly screw the C02 on. With that basic setup, you had to wear gloves or cover canister with a rag, cuz you could freeze your skin as you discharge the canister. That’s not fun.

BTW, I still have that on my bike in the seat bag. Since I no longer ride the bike, I’ll put it in my backpack that I use when I ride my KLX. So Thanks for the idea...

There’s nothing to hold the nozzle on the unit down on the valve stem. Are you pushing it on and down hard enough and holding it down as you try to inflate? I know, stupid, but just trying to help.
