I never use the clutch in my Peterbilt and that has a 510hp Detroit diesel with 1650 ft lbs of torque....I start and stop with it.......why is that any different when i slide some gears on my KLX????I have never used the clutch besides starting and stopping in my rig.and i have never used the clutch besides blazing off my rear tire on the bike.......don't get me started on sliding and scratching gears.....I'd polish them if i could ......she is always shiny.deej would be ashamed of what his bike looked like after he saw my truck....oh darn did i just put up a pic.....

don't talk to me about cleaning stuff......

My tires are very dirty and it bothered me....

My clean machine under the screener........this thing will blow dirt all over your spottless clean truck in 2 seconds.......

My favorite part of the rig is running the turnpike....set the cruise at 68 mph and just roll with it.......and yes it is shifted without the clutch.... but i'd have to show you how it's really done.what's neat is when you are under full boost pressure and you do a quick lift to downshift and the jake just goes..."braaaaapp" to dump the boost pressure...for the downshift......electronics are awesome.......bang 'em but don't break 'em ........ride on.

Default RE: Clutch Question

I raced MX in So. Calif. for many years. Istarted on a 1969 Kawasaki 90 that I modified. I racedit in the 100cc class which hasn't existed for years. Then a Bultaco 250 Pursang. Now these bikes were made more than 30 years ago. About the only time I used the clutch was off the line or coming out of tight turns so I could keep the bikes on the power band. It's all in knowing the feel of your bike and when done properly WILL NOT harm the gears, or any other part of the engine.
