Default clutch install

Do you have to pull the right engine cover to change out the clutch or can it be done with just pulling the clutch cover?

How are you going to hold the clutch from spinning? Holding the left side with a strap wrench (or however that's done)? If so, then I believe it can be done by just pulling the clutch cover. I pulled the right side cover and slipped a penny in the gears to keep motor from spinning when clutch removed. This also lets you check the oil pickup screen.

I think I just had the bike in gear. that was enough to hold the clutch from spinning.

Yes - just pull cover. If you want, you can lay bike on it's side too and don't have to drain oil

To remove basket, put bike and gear and have someone hold the rear brake too for good measure.

I don't think I pulled the basket, I just swapped the plates in the bike.

Thats what I thought. Just pull the cover, then the 4-5 spring loaded bolts. Then swap them out.

Do I need any special tool?
