Default Cam balance

I had the same question. Here is my opinion.

If anything was going to throw the cam out of balance it would be the lobes which are both pointing the same direction for obvious reasons. The bearing surfaces are very large in order to carry the intense load of compressing valve springs. So I think the minor imbalance from removing the KACR is not an issue.

The best way to wipe out cam bearing surfaces is to run out of oil or fail to change out dirty oil. Another way is to habitually rev the motor after a cold (dry) start. Next best way is to over tighten a manual cam chain tensioner or to mess with the automatic adjuster. Otherwise I would not worry about it.
