I haven't, could be a poor connection somewhere or the button no seeding properly under the rubber cover.

Does it reset while it's turned off or during engine start?

When I had a bad battery the bike would crank, try to start, and almost sound hydrolocked making a loud CLUNK sound and resetting the clock and both trip meters.

It's your battery.

Then it's either a weak battery or a failing starter. Either way, your battery voltage is going so low during engine start that the clock resets. Most likely, it's the battery. How old is it?

I support the opinion on it being the battery.

I had bought a 'new' battery off a guy from Craigslist. Put it in my son's KLX, seemed to work, but didn't seem to last any longer than the 'old' battery (which was working, but didn't last long if it was stalled numerous times and had to be restarted.). One day, I went to start it and the Instruments would light up for .5 second to 1 second, then turn off. I had 12.8V on the battery, but once I turned the key to ON (not even trying to start it) and the voltage would drop to almost 0. I put the old battery back in, and it's been fine since (of course, this was after checking every fuse and every electrical connection I could find, and spraying the connectors with contact cleaner and then putting dielectric grease in every connection, thinking 'it couldn't possibly be the new battery, since it's new and is showing sufficient, although just slightly low, voltage.'

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info.

The problem was dirty battery terminals, after cleaning them the clock hasn't reset itself.

However, during starting the F1 and overheat light come on and as soon as the engine starts, both go off. Although this isn't a problem (yet) it isn't correct, any ideas?

Another question, how are service codes erased from the memory?

Colin
