Clarke Tank Capacity, Detailed Report

Clarke Tank Capacity, Detailed Report
I took the time to accurately measure the capacity of the my Clarke Tank.
This is it with 10 liters poured in.
IMHO it is over full.
Real world max capacity is 9.8 litres or 2.6 Gallons. Clarke claim 2.7 which is fair enough if you want to fill it right to the top.
I marked off each liter as I poured it in.
Each black line is 1 liter with an extra line for reserve.
Reserve is 1.3 litres.
When draining with the bike flat and still, there was around 0.1 liters still in the tank.
When moving this would be no issue.
On my last ride which was around 170k's after filling up I got fuel economy of 4.74 liters per 100kms or about 50mpg.
This was about 100kms (62m) dirt and 70kms (44m) road.

RE: Clarke Tank Capacity, Detailed Report
Thanks for posting the photos, I now have a better feel for my tank capacity, when I seen my tank at about the 5 liter mark I always thought I had about 1 liter left!

Yeah theres no way you can fill it all the way up. When I do it over flows thru the vent until it's under the cap.
