Default Clarke Fuel Tank

Anyone know if the Clarke tank will fit the 09?

According to the gentleman I spoke to at Clarke, no. The one they currently offer is only for the 06-08 KLX250S. They are working on a tank for the 09.

No chance.
Doesn't even fit the 06.

It's not that bad on my 2007 model. However, since I don't really need the fan I would get an IMS today.

Yeah, I read a good thread for the IMS. I think a few of the senior members have done the mod but it wasn't trivial. I might go that route though. All my other mods have gone really well without any problems.

I don't care who you are, that right there is funny! The Clarke fits like it was made for a DRZ, it is junk fit wise IMHO, couple that with the variances in those that fit and those they don't and the first batch of leakers and one would have to think Clarke has a quality control problem.

Sadly, I have to agree. What's disappointing is this isn't consistent with the reputation Clarke has devloped over the years.

I was excited when I heard they were developing this tank and wanted to be one of the first to buy it. Looking back, I'm glad there were people who beat me to the punch.

I would have hated having to return the tank from overseas through APO..what a hassle. I'll stick to the stock unit. Gas stations are fairly close together in most areas in JA anyway. I just would have liked a little extra petrol to cut down on the gas stops...no big deal. I need my cooling fan in stop-n-go traffic, so I don't envision going with the IMS.

For me the reason for the Clarke wasn't the capacity, it was the fact that it was plastic. I ride my KLX 95% off road and of them 80% is single track...I fall, a lot. The metal tank just takes a beating in those conditions.
