+1 on low end grunt & a better top end flow @ high rpm's, as the header pipe is a larger diameter than the stock header....3hp is a big claim that I cannot confirm from the seat of my pants dyno!!

BTW get a heat shield for the Megabomb or your leg or trousers will get burnt...

Stock is 14t and probably goes 75 mph. Try going down a tooth and you'll get better low end torque. Top end will decrease but still over 60 mph.

That's a very good question. I cannot for the life of me figure how you do 90 on an 07 with 12/52.
How do you get that thing to rev to 12,250? If you're talking kmh, then be clear about it. But you aren't doing a true 90 mph with 12/52 gears on an '07KLX250 unless you're falling a cliff. (ref gearingcommander.com)

danishkine:

Welcome to KF.
Dyno charts out there show that a good slip on muffler (stock header) and rejet will bring out about 1 extra ft-lb and 2 hp (from ~18 to ~20). That's not bad.

fmf q4 and megabomb will probably give you the quietest and ideal performance...but, it's pricey and even used goes for steep prices...i didn't notice any hp gain from the megabomb, but i did notice better throttle response...decel popping was elliminated...i found one new from a member that got his klx250s stolen in la for super duper cheap....bought the megabomb and it has been great..heatshield is required!

i switched from the q4 to the hmf for little extra sound...for just a slip on, fmf q4 is probably the best option...if you are going to have a megabomb (which will reduce noise levels), than you can try other louder slip ons...megabomb will mellow out the sound levels during idle and light throttle...but, full throttle and the sound will come alive!..

i'll try to record a video of of what a megabomb sounds like with and hmf after i get back from my business trip...

Hey IDRIDR: Do you by any chance have a link to that chart? Not sure what a rejet is?

I hate to be a thread hijacker, but what brand of 12 tooth sprocket are you running? I have a 13 that I like, and I'd like to try a 12, but can't find one anywhere.
