LOL, you did it for me before I had a chance to fix it! I got a lot of stuff to do at work tomorrow since I took this afternoon off. Feel like stopping by? jk

Guy said it came in on a trade, I have no idea for what.

Hey go find a picture on the net and do a test with the instructions I posted to see if it works. Then post away.

The $3600 for an '06 with 1500 miles and good shape seems like a fair price to me. Negotiate what you can get, of course. Some will deal, some will not, usually depends on how well the bike is selling in your area and how many the dealer has.

In southern CO, it took a guy about 6 weeks and several listings to sell his 2006 KLX with 1,600 miles on it -- got $3,500. Another guy on the forum here is in southern CO and has talked about selling his bike and was, if I recall, looking to get in the low $4,000s. $3,700 from a dealersounds like a good deal to me.

sounds like a good deal. The rear fender isn't even modded. Look for any rock damage underneath it. This could tell you what kind of off road life it had. And yes the strap was put there for passangers to hold on to, I belive it is a federal standard for new bikesto have something for the passanger to hold on to.

Got a closer look at the bike today. No major scars on the plastic/bar ends/foot pegs/etc, doesn't look like it's ever been dropped.Tires are the stock 603's, the back looks a little worn, the front still has the nubbies on the outside *****. The clutch lever seemed a little loose (it had some play up and down) and the seat strap is gone, but all in all, it looks pretty mint.

Question: Is it normal for the suspension to soften up or sag a bit over time on these bikes? I ask because I could definitely get more foot on the ground on this bike than I did when I sat on the brand new '07 last week. Maybe it's just been adjusted that way? I don't know enough to be able to tell just by looking.

We haggled a bit on the price. I didn't get what I wanted to hear so I gave himmy card and left. Got home and the phone rang... you can figure out the rest.

So assuming all goes well with my insurance and financing, there's a pretty good chance I'll be picking this bike up sometime next week!!

Congrats! Yes, the suspension will wear in a bit over time, but it won't be too dramatic. Chances are the previous owner set the sag or something. Also, double check the dogbone links under the rear suspension - could be the bike was lowered by changing out the links. If so, it can be made back to stock very easily by simply putting stock links back in. I can't imagine they would be very expensive.

That bike looks like it was never ridden!The paint on the side cover is not even scrached!
The first week I broke;
Stock Hand gaurds
Mirrors
Blinkers
Rear lower fender thinggie

I have less than 1200 miles on mine and Im on the 4th rear tire. I dont think I ride my bake that hard its it starting to show a little wear. But that bike is pristine, Looks like Iowa guy was riding it.I would snach that bike in a second if I could get it for $3500 or less
