Half the problem is it looks a bit cheap compared to whats on other bikes.
Doesn't have that light weight look about it.
It does look like painted steel.

But as you can see, scratch the surface and it's aluminium.

Almost forgot...check your rear chain guide as well...my OEM one busted up and I replaced it with a Moose (I believe) chain guide, but even it has some wear on it where the chain was rubbing the side of one of the plates. I will be adding another thin washer to it when it goes back on. Also going from 45 to 48 tooth rear sprocket, so wondering if I may have to trim up the plastic slider as well?
