You may already know this , but Just the act of knocking bearings out, ruins them. You are whacking on the inner race and it is transmitting all the force to the ***** which then transmit the force to the outer race. All of that will cause small dents, or brinelling of the races, which will cause the bearing to fail much sooner.

My spacers do have wear grooves in them , I don't know that they are too deep? I think the seals have quite a bit of play. After you posted your pics I went and looked at mine. There is some type of defect in the front wheel spacer, some type of a crack, or void. Maybe I will look into replacements.

New bearings were in the plan regardless.

Good point on damage by knocking them out. I "knew" that, but had forgotten .

The collar thing is about $12 from the local Kaw dealer. Not sure if I'll spring for a new one of those yet, or let it ride for another year.

If you're gonna go all that way to look at 'em, may as well change 'em.

All ***** kits for the KLX on eBay were $15 front, and $23 rear shipped.
RockyMountainATV was $11 front and $16 rear plus $7 shipping.
I ended up going with the MOOSE RACING kit from the local shop (glad to give them the business) $10 front, and $18 rear, no shipping charges. Picked them up the next day.
The MOOSE bearings actually turned out to be the All ***** bearings repackaged. The package does say that they are made in China We will see how they work.

I did an emergency buy of bearings for my Zephyr - Fastenal! About $10 for the pair I needed. I ruined one hub and one cush hub bearing when I screwed up and didn't put in the cush hub spacer. The one store near me had the double sealed bearings in stock. So if you ever get in a bind, Fastenal has bearings too. You can even find out what store has them if you look on-line.

Thanks man! I need to keep them in mind for other stuff too. Motion was way high on V-belts too.
