Changing the suspenders on the klx250s?
#21
Thanks for that info, Brewster. That sounds pretty logical to me. I wonder if Rick and the Cogent folks will have a rebound mod available to the public for the KLX 43mm fork? Sounded like they were working on it. That said, I haven't been disappointed up to this point with the Race Tech compression mods to my fork. I'm goint to Moab at the end of the month for about 14 days of riding, and this will be my first test of the Race Tech mods on more wide open, fast, rocky terrain. Locally we have tons of rocks, but the trails are tighter, so speed is somewhat reduced. I've ridden for many years in Moab in the past, but it was on KLR600/650's, so this will be like a cakewalk on the KLX.
And I'm glad I did the 300 kit. This thing has a bunch more punch throughout the power band even with just this minimal displacement increase.

I'm pretty sure the brakes are interchangeable.

Hi Brewster, do whatever is necessary to get them on the bike i guess, make the shims for the wheel & install them. Do you think thats expensive? What suggestions do you have?

It depends on what they will be doing. Do they include a full rebuild with new seals and KLX fork springs to match your weight? The KLX springs and spacers keep the KX forks the same length as the KLX forks. Installation is easy.
I can sell you the axle adapters for $40. and the spring spacers for $30. The only other thing you will need to do is install a pin/rod near the bottom of one of the forks to keep the odometer drive from rotating with the wheel.
