Catfish Pond Near Martinsville VA
First off I apologize for the lack of pics!
I took my wife and 2 kids and met my father in law at the Catfish Pond ATV trails to have a nice day of family trail riding. We all had a blast! The place is primarily for lifted 4x4 atv's with snorkles, etc, but there are trails that dirt bikers can enjoy too. The "logging road" (calling it a road is a bit of a stretch, especially in some nasty spots!) is two way but all the other trails are one way. Most of the trails are pretty heavily rutted with water standing after a rain. All total there are about 50 miles of trails spread out on 830+ acres.
However, unless you want to play slip and slide all day, it is best to go when it hasn't rained in a day or two. It rained hard on us that morning and man what a slick mess! It was still a lot of fun.
There are not many riding areas near the piedmont triad of NC so it was nice to find this spot just an hour up the road. We will definately be back and we'll get pictures next time!
