In case you've been away...
...and haven't been keeping up with my thread on ADVrider.com, there is a ton of new info coming out of Australia being posted.
I'm amused/confused about some of the jetting discussions compared to the experience we've seen here but the info is good none the less.
Also, they confirm the Acerbis tank is a direct bolt on for our bikes. I've pinged the new East coast Acerbis importer asking for confirmed pricing and availability. I also asked that he contact Acerbis about the possibility of doing a run in a different color.

HI Todd:
I have to agree about the jetting changes. Sounds like you have the same little mods to the bike that I have done. My bike runs flawless. I have checked the plug insulator color and had a nice "tan" result. Bikes do come "lean" from the factory to pass emmissions regulations and COP (Conformity of Production) but changing up to a 150 is way too rich in my mind. Again I can't prove it w/o an emmissions bench and chassis dyno.
I have first hand experiece (at two different companies) working with the folks from Kiehn, and quite honestly trust what they do.
So, jumping up a size or two on the main and "posibbly" raising the neddle would be about it unless you get into major powertrain modifications.

RE: In case you've been away...
I saw the post from advrider about the 150 main jet and 42 pilot jet and removing the air box lid. Since I was going to change my main jet anyway, I went and picked up the 150 and 42 to try them. I ran into a little problem since the dealer could not tell what kind of pilot jet the bike had for sure. So we guessed and when I got the carb apart that's when I found it was wrong. However, since it was close and would screw in, I put it in anyway. Well, surprise surprise, the bike didn't idle right, but it didn't die and ran good enough to ride around the block.
First thing I noticed was how freakin loud the bike was and it all came from under the seat. It very bassy, it sounded like I uncorked the muffler. Doing this mod completely changes the behaviour of the engine. It went from being a revy engine to torquey engine. Very weird. It reminded me alot of my KLR650. The bike pulled hard from 6,000 to 9,000. Low rpm was a little sluggish, but I am positive that it was because of the wrong pilot jet. The 150 main jet was right on. The bike pulled clean and didn't smell any different than normal (didn't smell rich).
I think this mod is a dirt bike mod only. It definitely makes a big power difference but it is so loud it is annoying. If you do this, might as well put loud exhaust on and enjoy all the power. I will pick up the right pilot jet some time and try it again.
