ORIGINAL: Finger Mullet
OMG look at this curve for the TE510.... 30hp @ only 5K rpms with 30 ft-lbs torque at the same rpms and a max hp of 53 hp, no wonder that guy lost it on his brand new 510 in the ADV forums with only 10 miles. BTW I think the 510 weighs about the same as our ride.

One little blip and you're up!
Yep, that was Ruffus over there. I think he's healed up and riding once again. I made a comment that I was eyeing up his TE510 and he told me to get lost and find my own and that she only bites the timid. I'm glad to hear he's back on it - that would be a pretty scary event that might tend to give one some 2nd thoughts.

If I got a 2nd bike, the TE series is high on the list, either a 510 or 610 but probably the 510. But I'll still with my KLX250 for a while. We'll see how she behaves after the Keihin FCR + 331cc upgrades. I suspect it will perform to my satisfaction and keep me happy for several years. Also, I can't help but think about trying to lift my KLX250 with my bum right arm after my get-off. Any heavier and I wouldn't have been going anywhere - it was all I could do to get it up in that condition. The 610 would have been too big, too heavy, though someday I'd like to do some extended adventuring - perhaps the Trans American Trail and I think something like the TE610 would be perfect for that.
